19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term trainer Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his first trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after March of 2023.
The win also means the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in that event earlier this year.
His defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an improved service.
He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to create a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early break points in a tight final set before the champion won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
